The superstar makes the Seneca Allegany's Events Center feel like home

Have you ever wanted to completely entertained and welcomed by a performer at a concert? The sold-out house at the Seneca Allegany Casino's Events Center had that pleasure Saturday night when Melissa Etheridge took the stage.

A show that was truly an evening with Melissa Etheridge took the sold-out room from the casino-show feel to that of a large arena, with the musical flair and style Etheridge and her band brought to the stage. But it didn't end there. Interaction between, as well as during, songs gave the feeling of visiting an old friend in her living room.

At one point, Etheridge broke a string on her Ovation guitar and gave it to a fan in the front row, saying, “Don't hurt anyone with that. Or do.”

The evening of what turned out to be one of the most motivational concerts this reviewer has ever attended, was also one of the few that people in the Events center were able to stand through out the show, even up along the barricade in front of the stage.

As has become expected with each successive show, the Seneca Gaming Corporation has once again outdone themselves. Melissa Etheridge and the rest of her four-piece ensemble put on a show to be remembered by every one in attendance.

At one point Etheridge, behind her guitarist, a phenom in his own rite, played a duet on the same axe, creating a sound that can only be called original beyond question. But anyone that has heard Etheridge would say that all of her work falls into that category.

The 2-hour show (about 45 minutes longer than the normal casino show) was one of the best I have had the pleasure of reviewing. Etheridge and her band were absolutely wonderful, entertaining the entire arena, and the casino staff was perfect, allowing those that wanted to get close to do so.

Another successful show for the Seneca Allegany Casino, and what a show it was!

One of the most memorable moments of the concert was when they played "Black Balloon", and a cloud of black balloons floated down from the ceiling and onto the crowd.

The concert lasted an hour and a half, a good amount of time for the audience to stay focused and entertained, but also long enough for the Goo Goo Dolls to play all the songs everyone loves.

Their songs were evenly dispersed between their old hits and new hits to keep everyone happy.

Karen Collins, a veteran fan of the Goo Goo Dolls, has been to at least 30 of their concerts and knows every song off of their new album. Collins loved every minute of the concert. She was on her feet dancing the whole time. "All their concerts are this good," She said.

----------------------I personally loved every minute of it and so did the two other people I was with. We were standing the whole time. The hour and a half flew by and we might have even wanted a little more, but the performance was nothing short of impressive.
