Linger Longer Café on Main Street in Allegany is much more than your average coffee shop.
Owner Beth Mitchell and her business partner Christina Scott wanted to create a wholesome atmosphere in an area they felt that needed it.
“We both felt that God wanted us to do something, but we didn’t really know what it was.”
Beth and her husband Roger have now owned Linger Longer for almost 6 years.
The comfortable café not only offers serves, lattes and teas that are “to chai for” but also a number of food items. Treat yourself to a delicious homemade lunch. With their soups, flatbreads, panini, wraps, etc. there is definitely something for everyone!
Linger Longer also has a second location at the YMCA in Olean. “It’s basically a small version of this,” said Beth. They sell whole fruit smoothies (which have higher nutritional value) and other health drinks as well as some food items such as salads and homemade trail mix.
The café also raises money for various causes. For every Pesky Turkey Panini they sell they donate one dollar.
Much of their food is baked on site, and meals can be made just as you like. “If you want your panini a little different, you can have it a little different.”
All of their meals are made with high quality food. “We don’t buy inferior meat just because it’s cheaper,” said Beth. “We don’t do premade meals either.”
Beth also hopes to create a more restaurant style menu incorporating a variety of different flavors.
To further expand the dining experience, the back is set up with more tables and chairs, a fireplace and even a cozy couch. The back can also be used for group functions such as showers and business meetings.
“You are going to see a lot of changes in that direction,” said Beth. “We want it to be more than just coffee.”
Not only is their food great, customer service is of utmost importance at Linger Longer.
“We really make it a priority to build relationships with our customers,” explained Beth. “We don’t always know their names, but we know what they drink!”
